What Makes This Recipe Great

The halloween candy is still haunting my kitchen pantry and I was 98% tempted to just toss it all in the trash, but then I remembered how much I love creating healthier versions of ice cream with my Ninja Creami. My all time favorite candy is a classic Butterfinger and I dreamed of having a healthier and high protein option to enjoy at the end of the night. Mixing vanilla cream protein powder, peanut butter, almond milk and a dash of honey gives the base of the Creami slightly sweet and smooth without tons of sugar. After the base is frozen you just need a single mini butterfinger to add to the base when you re-spin. This will add a touch of crunch and the perfect sweetness. Please tell me in the comments that you are making this recipe soon!!!!!

Pro Tip

  • If you don’t love butterfinger candy, feel free to mix in a mini chocolate bar, Reeses or Twix; they will all pair well with the peanut butter and honey!

Frequently Asked Question

Can I refreeze leftovers?

  • Yes! If there are leftovers you can flatten the top of the mixture in the container then refreeze them. But of course they will be rock solid again so you can either take it out and let sit on the counter for 15 minutes or run it back through the Ninja CREAMi on respin once.

How is the Ninja Creami different from a blender?

  • With a blender, even a high powered one, you need to add a decent amount of liquid for it to blend.  With the CREAMi you get super thick ice cream and sorbets that is unmatched!

Do you have to freeze the base for 24 hours?

  • The Ninja CREAMi guide says you must freeze for 24 hours but I have tried to use it after they have only frozen for 6-8 hours and it still works great just slightly less thick.
