What Makes This Recipe Great

If you have been on any social media platform recently you most likely have seen the viral posts showing how to make Italian Chop Sandwich, you essentially dump an Italian sammie on a cutting board and chop it up. Well the latest flatbread in the series The Italian Grinder Flatbread is just like that just whipped up on the grill and so delicious, the only difference from a classic Italian Sandwich and this flatbread rendition is the thick sub roll is swapped out with thin Naan Bread.

Ingredient List

  • Naan Bread
  • Italian Dressing– your favorite kind will work
  • Provolone– grating the cheese yourself is the best
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Salami
  • Pepperoni
  • Turkey
  • Shredded Iceberg Lettuce– you can find pre shredded in the produce section
  • Red Onion– you will want to thinly slice your red onions
  • Banana Peppers
  • Grape Tomatoes

Step By Step Instructions

  1. Lay your Naan bread out on a flat service and brush with Italian dressing, sprinkle with provolone and Parmesan cheese then top with turkey, salami and pepperoni
  2. Once your grill is warmed up to 400 degrees add your flatbreads and allow the cheese to melt completely.
  3. While your flatbread is on the grill combine lettuce, red onion, banana peppers and grape tomatoes and mix with the remaining Italian dressing. Once the flatbread is grilled and cheese melt, pull off the grill and top with the lettuce mixture. Slice and Enjoy.

Ingredients 

  • 2 naan breads, large
  • ¼ cup italian dressing
  • 6 slices provolone, chopped
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 6 slices salami, chopped
  • 12 slices pepperoni, chopped
  • 2 slices turkey, chopped
  • 3 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • ¼ cup red onion, chopped
  • ¼ cup chopped banana peppers
  • 1 cup chopped grape tomatoes

Instructions 

  • Prep Naan: Lay naan breads on a pan. Pour Italian dressing into a small bowl. Brush some dressing over the naan with a pastry brush (save some dressing for later).
  • Add Cheese and Meat: Sprinkle provolone and Parmesan cheese evenly over both naan breads. Then, sprinkle the chopped salami, pepperoni, and turkey.
  • Preheat Grill: Heat your grill to about 400°F (or use a flattop).
  • Make Salad: In a bowl, combine lettuce, red onion, banana peppers, and grape tomatoes. Toss with the remaining Italian dressing.
  • Grill Naan: Place naan on the grill for about 3 minutes until cheese melts and the bottom is crispy.
  • Top and Serve: Remove from grill, top with the salad mix, slice, and serve.
