What Makes This Recipe Great
Cottage cheese is really having its moment in the limelight and I cannot think of a better recipe to add it to than this BBQ chicken high protein dip. As we have learned, blending the cottage cheese gives it a smooth texture that allows it to take on the taste of other ingredients in the recipe.. Just add your favorite BBQ sauce and you have the base of a perfect dip. Chopped chicken and chopped coleslaw bring extra protein to this dip as well. The addition of the pickle seasoning gives this dish an added layer of depth and deliciousness.
Ingredient Information
- Cottage Cheese
- Greek Yogurt- any percentage will work for this recipe
- BBQ Sauce– Stubbs is our favorite, but use your family favorite
- Chicken
- Pickle Seasoning– I found this at Trader Joe’s
- Coleslaw– you can find the pre packaged coleslaw in the salad fridge area
Step By Step Instructions
- Blend up cottage cheese, greek yogurt and BBQ sauce.
- In a large bowl mix the chopped chicken, coleslaw and pickle seasoning.
- Mix the sauce with the chicken mixture and enjoy.
Pro Tip
- Rotisserie chicken is perfect for this recipe, but be sure to chop the chicken up small to make sure it’s just right for dipping.

What if I cannot find the pickle seasoning?
- If you do not have a Trader Joe’s or cannot find the seasoning, you can add 1/2 cup chopped pickles & 1 tsp chopped dill.

Notes
- If you want this to be more chicken salad style than a dip, reduce greek yogurt to 1/2 cup and chop the chicken into bigger chunks!
Just whipped this up for lunch. My TJs didn’t have pickle seasoning so i threw in 1T relish. I ate it on TJs carb savy tortillas. Delish!!! Will definitely make this again!
