What makes this High Protein Brownie Batter Dip great?

The high protein dip series started with the savory High Protein Thai Chicken Dip which had loads of protein from the chicken, cottage cheese, peanut butter and more. This week we are taking a 180 and trying out a sweet dip with loads of protein. Greek yogurt is rich in essential vitamins and minerals including B12, selenium, and zinc. Just like greek yogurt cashews have an immense amount of protein to satisfy your daily goal and with this High Protein Brownie Batter you can get all the protein in the most delicious way. Once the cashews have soaked the whole batter gets blended up, I used my Ninja Bullet for this and its works amazing. 

Ingredients for High Protein Brownie Batter Dip:

  • Greek Yogurt– I used zero % but feel free to use whatever kind is your favorite.
  • Cashews– Make sure you used unsalted cashews.
  • Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk– feel free to use your favorite non-dairy milk.
  • Chocolate Protein Powder– My all time favorite protein powder is Flav City Chocolate.
  • Cocoa Powder– Cacao powder can also be used.
  • Maple Syrup– Pure maple syrup is always the best bet
  • Vanilla
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Flakey Sea Salt or Mini Chocolate Chips– Just a pinch for the top of the bowl is needed.

Step by Step Instructions:

  1. Soak cashews for 4-6 hours in water.  Or if you are in a time crunch, soak in hot water for at least an hour.
  2. Combine cashews, greek yogurt and almond milk in a blender.
  3. Blend on high until smooth.
  4. Add protein powder, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla and salt.
  5. Blend on high until smooth!

Pro Tips

  • You can thicken the dip by adding more greek yogurt to the mixture. Also the higher fat content in the yogurt will also make this dip thicker.
  • This dip pairs well with both fruits as well as salty crackers or pretzels

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I prep this the day before a party?

Yes! If you are serving this at a party or shindig the best prep would be to make sure you have your cashews soaked very well the night before. You can then add all the ingredients including the soaked cashews into the blender and mix up right before serving. This can also stay good in the fridge for 3-5 days after blending. It may separate after being in the fridge just mix or blend again before serving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cashews, soaked
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Flakey salt and/or mini chocolate chips for topping

Instructions

  • Soften cashews: Soak cashews in water for 4-6 hours or in hot water for 1 hour to soften.
  • Blend: Drain the soaked cashews and add them to a blender with Greek yogurt and almond milk. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Add flavors: Add chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the blender.
  • Blend until smooth: Blend on high until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth.
  • Serve: Pour the brownie batter dip into a serving bowl. Top with mini chocolate chips and flakey salt.
  • Enjoy: Serve with your favorite dippers such as strawberries, pretzels, graham crackers, or cookies!
  • Store: Store in the fridge!
