What Makes This Recipe Great
Looking for the ultimate crowd-pleasing appetizer or an easy weeknight dinner idea? Look no further than these Baked Cuban Sliders!
They take all the irresistible flavors of the classic Cuban sandwich—tangy mustard, savory ham and pulled pork, briny pickles, and gooey Swiss cheese—and layer them on soft, sweet Hawaiian rolls. Baked until golden and drenched in a savory garlic-butter topping, these Hawaiian roll sliders are a pull-apart dream that vanishes from the platter in minutes. Perfect for game day, potlucks, or a simple, satisfying meal!
Ingredient List

- Hawaiian Rolls– cubans are typically made with crusty French bread, but this is an awesome switch
- Dijon Mustard– yellow mustard can also be used instead of dijon mustard
- Pulled Pork– Using store-bought, pre-cooked pulled pork (sometimes labeled as “Pork Carnitas”) makes this an extremely easy slider recipe. If you have time, homemade mojo-marinated pulled pork is an excellent, authentic choice.
- Ham– whatever your favorite style or flavor of ham will work.
- Pickles–
- Swiss Cheese– I have used both thick and thin slices for this recipe
- Butter
- Garlic– measure with your heart for this ingredient
- Parsley– you will need to use dried parsley for this recipe
- Onion Powder
- Garlic Powder
- Salt and Pepper

Step By Step
1. Prep the Rolls and Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350∘F (175∘C). Using a serrated knife, slice the entire block of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom intact. Place the bottom half of the rolls into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
2. Assemble the Cuban Sliders
- Spread the Mustard: Spread the 41 cup of Dijon mustard evenly over the cut side of the bottom rolls.
- Layer the Cheese: Arrange the 5 slices of Swiss cheese over the mustard layer.
- Add the Meat: Layer the 6 slices of ham on top of the cheese, followed by the 1 lb. of cooked pulled pork.
- Pickle Perfection: Distribute the 1 cup of sliced pickles evenly over the pulled pork.
- Top it Off: Place the top half of the rolls over the filling.
3. Make the Garlic- Butter Topping
- In a small bowl, melt the 41 cup of butter. Whisk in the 21 tablespoon of Dijon mustard, 2 minced garlic cloves, 21tablespoon dried parsley, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 41 teaspoon garlic powder, and 41 teaspoon salt.
4. Bake and Serve
- Drench: Pour and brush the savory garlic-butter mixture evenly over the top of the assembled rolls, ensuring the tops are completely coated.
- Bake: Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes.
- Uncover: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and the tops of the rolls are golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Serve: Let cool for a few minutes, then slice along the original roll lines. Serve immediately and watch them disappear!

Pro Tip
- Make-Ahead Tip: You can assemble the sliders up to the point of adding the butter topping. Cover and refrigerate for up to 12 hours. Let them sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before adding the topping and baking.
