  • Hawaiian Rolls– Obviously Kings Hawaiian Rolls are the best
  • Oil– any oil you fancy will work
  • Onion– be sure to chop up into small pieces
  • Breakfast Sausage- Swap pork sausage for ground turkey sausage or plant-based breakfast crumbles for a lighter option
  • Eggs
  • Milk– Any non-dairy milk (unsweetened almond or oat) or heavy cream works seamlessly.
  • Salt & Pepper– feel free to use any other spices that you would like
  • Cheddar Cheese– Replace cheddar with Swiss, Pepper Jack for a spicy kick, or Provolone
  • Butter
  • Maple Syrup– Sub maple syrup with honey or hot honey for a sweet-and-spicy glaze

Pro Tips

  • Keep the roll block intact: Don’t slice the Hawaiian rolls individually. Slice the entire 12-pack horizontally as one giant sheet to build the sliders all at once, then cut them into individual sandwiches after baking.
  • Don’t skip the onion caramelization: Take an extra 2–3 minutes to let the diced onions get slightly golden in the skillet before adding the sausage. The natural sweetness bridges the gap between the savory pork and the maple-butter glaze.

Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 25 minutes
Servings: 12

Ingredients

Sliders:

  • Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • ½ onion
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 8 eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese

Maple butter:

  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 4–5 minutes until softened.
  • Add the breakfast sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles. Drain any excess grease.
  • In a separate bowl, crack eggs and add milk, salt and pepper. Whisk to combine then pour over sausage in a hot pan. Scramble the eggs until set and well combined with the sausage.
  • Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected. Place the bottom half in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Mix the softened butter and maple syrup together, then spread some on the bottom half of the rolls
  • Spread the scrambled eggs evenly over the rolls, followed by the sausage mixture. Lay the cheddar cheese slices on top.
  • Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese.
  • Slather more maple butter all over the top then cover with foil.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  • Remove foil and bake for 5 more minutes until tops are golden.
  • Slice into individual sliders and serve warm.
