We have been on a major smoothie kick lately and I love it!! I am never starving in the morning but I like to have a little something that is easy to whip together. Smoothies are such a great and easy way to get greens in, not only for me but for Ruth too! She would never tough a spinach leaf, but put a few handfuls in a smoothie and she will scream MOOOOOTHIE so loud then drink the whole thing in record time. This recipe is simple and tastes so incredible it’s like a milkshake. Chunky Monkey is a delicious ice cream flavor if you have never had it – packed with chocolate, banana and walnuts. For this smoothie I used frozen banana, almond butter for the nutty flavor and cacao powder for that chocolate punch. Then we added some almond milk, spinach and a couple dates for sweetness! A pinch of salt and ice are also thrown in there for the perfect blend of frozen flavor.
Also, hot tip! I just got a Hurom blender and it works so well!! I had a ninja before that which was good but I was amazed at how well the Hurom blended everything so smoothly and so quickly. I recommend! I also topped this smoothie was some almond milk whipped cream because it just felt right, but it’s not necessary. Bring a little YUM to your breakfast this week and feel really good about it!
So green and tasty!

We just got a Hurom blender and love it!
Can’t wait to try this tomorrow! Thanks!
Hope you loved it!
This smoothie recipe is amazing! Me and my 3 year old daughter both love it and have made it several times together. We swapped out a couple of the ingredients but it was still incredibly. As Kelsey states above it really does taste like a millshake.
Amazing, so glad you all love it!
Made this smoothie today. I didn’t have dates so I used honey. So good! Definitely adding this smoothie to my smoothie list!
That’s great!!
Delicious! Just made it for my picky kiddo. Told him it was a hulk smoothie (saw me putting the spinach in!) and he loves it! One question- mine was quite bit darker than yours so I just wanted to check if it was 2 Tbsp of cacao or 2 tsp? Thank you for sharing great recipes!
It should be tsp, I will update the recipe! thanks
