Ingredient List
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Honey– maple syrup can also be used
- Greek Yogurt-
- Mayonnaise– Dukes Mayo is my all time favorite
- Salt & Black Pepper
- Bacon– any cut of bacon will work
- Broccoli Florets
- Dried Cranberries– chopped grapes can also be used
- Red Onion
- Sunflower Seeds– sunflower seeds add a nice crunch to this salad
Step By Step
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the apple cider vinegar, honey, Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, pepper, and salt.
- Whisk until the dressing is completely smooth and well combined. Set it aside.
- Make sure your bacon is cooked until crispy and then chopped into small pieces. Chop your broccoli florets into small, bite-sized pieces. You want them small enough to be easy to eat in a salad. Dice the red onion into very small pieces.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped, crispy bacon, diced broccoli florets, dried cranberries, finely diced red onion, and sunflower seeds.
- Pour the creamy dressing you made over all the salad ingredients in the large bowl.
Pro Tip
Irresistibly Creamy Dressing: The dressing uses plain Greek yogurt to create a rich and tangy base, cutting down on the amount of mayonnaise without sacrificing flavor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use frozen broccoli for this recipe?
- While fresh broccoli is recommended for the best texture, you can use frozen broccoli. Make sure it’s completely thawed and patted very dry to prevent a watery salad.
Is this recipe gluten-free?
- Yes, as long as your bacon and other ingredients don’t contain any hidden gluten, this recipe is naturally gluten-free.
