We are finally in the swing of summer and this is the BEST MAI TAI RECIPE that ever existed. This time of year I make fun cocktails more than usual! Summer is meant to be celebrated and the extra warm weather just makes me want to bask in the sun and sip with my friends. Summer also makes me want to DO things. Get outside, go camping, go to new restaurants, SWIM! The last one, swim, is officially going to be our “summer thing”. I was listening to the Happier Podcast by Gretchen Rubin, she and her sister were talking about starting summer traditions to make it feel special. Changing things up always makes you happier, especially if it is adding something to your day or week that you enjoy; like this Mai Tai!
If you read my about me or just happen to know me, you’d know I played water polo for most of my life! But after college I stopped swimming all together and hadn’t gotten back into it until 2 weeks ago! Matt and I went swimming two Saturdays ago and it felt incredible. It was warm out, the pool was the perf temp and man was it hard. I forgot how many muscles it takes to swim! So we went again last Saturday and nooowwww SWIM SATURDAYS!!! And a good swim demands a good drink on the patio after. These Mai Tais pack a punch – you will love them, but be warned! 🙂
Cherries are in season and they are so delish. A perfect garnish for the Best Mai Tai!
Dark rum topper! Pin it people!
