What Makes This Recipe Great
If you’re searching for the ultimate holiday appetizer that balances tangy, sweet, creamy, and crunchy elements, this Cranberry Pear Whipped Goat Cheese Dip is guaranteed to impress your guests.
Featuring a velvety base of whipped goat cheese and cream cheese, topped with festive fruit, warm cinnamon-maple pecans, and fresh thyme, this elegant appetizer looks like it came from a high-end restaurant—yet takes just 15 minutes to assemble!
Ingredient List

- Goat Cheese– you can usually find this in the deli section of your store
- Cream Cheese – If you prefer a milder taste, swap half or all of the goat cheese for fresh ricotta or feta cheese (blended until smooth)
- Honey
- Salt
- Cranberry Chutney– Prepared cranberry chutney can usually be found near the specialty jams or in the deli section near charcuterie items.
- Pear– when you are looking for pears look for more yellow then green, then you know they are ripe
- Pecan– rough chop is what you are going for
- Butter– salted or unsalted will work
- Pure Maple Syrup
- Cinnamon
- Thyme–
- Pomegranate– often pre-packaged in cups near specialty berries
Step By Step
- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the pecans and toast for 1–2 minutes. Add the maple syrup, cinnamon, thyme and a pinch of salt and cook another 1–2 minutes until everything gets glossy and slightly sticky.
- Toss the pear into the warm maple-pecan mixture so it gets coated and immediately remove from heat.
- Spread the whipped goat cheese onto a platter, spoon the cranberry chutney over the center and spread it into a thin layer, then pile on the maple pear-pecan mixture. Sprinkle with pomegranate arils and some flakey sea salt.

Storage & Make Ahead Tips
Refrigerator Storage: Store any leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days.
Make-Ahead Instructions: You can whip the cheese base and prepare the diced pears up to 24 hours in advance. Keep them stored separately in the fridge (toss the pears in a splash of lemon juice to prevent browning). Assemble and add the warm maple pecan topping right before serving for the best texture.
Freezing: Freezing is not recommended, as dairy-based dips can separate and lose their smooth texture upon thawing.
