This Cranberry Pear Whipped Goat Cheese is the perfect holiday appetizer with creamy goat cheese, cranberry chutney, maple pecans, fresh pears and pomegranate!
Prep: 15 minutes
Cook: 8 minutes

Ingredients

Whipped Goat Cheese

  • 8 oz goat cheese, softened
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • ½ tsp salt

Cranberry Layer

  • ½ –¾ cup prepared cranberry chutney

Maple Pear Pecan Topping

  • 1 firm pear, finely diced
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • Pinch of salt
  • ⅓ cup pomegranate arils

For finishing

  • Flaky salt, optional

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the pecans and toast for 1–2 minutes. Add the maple syrup, cinnamon, thyme and a pinch of salt and cook another 1–2 minutes until everything gets glossy and slightly sticky.
  • Toss the pear into the warm maple-pecan mixture so it gets coated and immediately remove from heat.
  • Spread the whipped goat cheese onto a platter, spoon the cranberry chutney over the center and spread it into a thin layer, then pile on the maple pear-pecan mixture. Sprinkle with pomegranate arils and some flakey sea salt.
