Ingredient Information

- Hawaiian Rolls
- Mayo
- Ground Beef
- Salt & Pepper
- Bacon
- BBQ sauce
- Cheddar Cheese
- Crispy Fried Onions
Step By Step
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the entire package of Hawaiian rolls horizontally using a serrated knife so you have one continuous top half and bottom half. Place the bottom slab into a baking dish lined with parchment paper.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, season generously with salt and pepper, and brown until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat. Spread a light layer of mayonnaise over the bottom half of the rolls, then top evenly with the seasoned ground beef.
- Drizzle your desired amount of BBQ sauce over the beef layer. Evenly lay down the cheddar cheese slices, sprinkle the chopped cooked bacon, and smother with the entire bag of crispy fried onions.
- Place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls over the toppings. Lightly brush the tops with a thin coat of mayonnaise (or melted butter) to help them brown evenly. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheddar cheese is completely melted and the tops are golden brown and slightly crisp.
Recipe Tip and Variations
Ultra-Crispy Tops: For a glossy finish, mix melted butter with a dash of garlic powder and parsley instead of mayo for brushing the top buns.
Make-Ahead Friendly: You can assemble the slider layers up to a day in advance (holding the crispy onions until right before baking so they don’t get soggy) and keep them covered in the fridge.
Spice It Up: Add pickled jalapeños or switch the cheddar for pepper jack if you like a spicy Western kick.
