Finally a holiday DIY! I have loved pendant banners for quite sometime (as you can see in my banner ^) but I have yet to make one myself! I am so glad I did because I realized how easy they are to make, and add just the perfect decor to your fireplace. You could really hang these anywhere but seeing as my fireplace isn’t real, I thought it needed extra flair. Burlap is one of my favorite fabrics/ textures. It is cheap and versatile which is amazing. You can make it a tablecloth, a runner, and even a banner! I already had this jute rope so I used that as my string but you can use any rope, string or ribbon you like. I cut a template for the triangles myself, but you can find a template online too. Then I just got some acrylic paint, a sponge brush, and some iron on hem. In just a few easy steps you can make your decor come alive with a nice homemade feel.
First trace your template.
Then cut out the triangles.
On a paper towel or newspaper, paint on the letters to each triangle.
Once they are ready and dry, line the letters up as they will be displayed.
Put the rope on the side it will be on to see how you want to space the letters.
Then flip over the word and place your iron on hem below the string.
Fold over the top and iron!
Hang in your desired location and enjoy the wonderment of homemade decor. 🙂
