When I first saw that you could make your own magic shell I thought, blasphemy!   A hard chocolate coating makes everything better, especially ice cream.  So I thought I would give it a try.  It is pretty terrifying how easy it was, and just knowing it is in my fridge right now is exciting.  All you have to do is take chocolate chips and coconut oil and melt them in your microwave!

Microwave it for about a minute.  Then stir and melt for 30 seconds more if needed.

Then I poured it into a spare squeeze bottle we had.

Then just pour over ice cream and watch it freeze!

Homemade Magic Shell

1 1/2 Cups Chocolate Chips

1/2 cup Coconut Oil


Melt Chips and Oil in microwave for 1 minute. Remove and let sit for 30 seconds then stir to combine.  If chips are not melted entirely, cook for 30 more seconds.  Pour over ice cream!
